Elbit Systems advances laser communication capabilities in Germany through exclusive defense licensing agreeement with Cucuyo

Elbit Systems Deutschland GmbH & Co. KG has entered into a strategic agreement with German start-up Cucuyo GmbH, obtaining an exclusive license to adapt Cucuyo’s advanced laser communication technology for defense applications, granting Elbit Systems exclusive rights to utilize and further develop Cucuyo’s technology for military and defense purposes. Under the agreement, both companies will develop jointly new products derived from this technology, which will be owned by Elbit.

Cucuyo and Cavok UAS today announced that they have successfully completed the first flight tests of Cucuyo’s P-100 airborne laser communication terminal installed on Cavok UAS drones. A total of twelve tests were conducted in Spain to validate the integration of key systems and pave the way for future product development advances.

Cucuyo and Cavok UAS today announced that they have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) and entered into a strategic partnership. The companies will work together to demonstrate Cucuyo’s laser communication terminal installed on Cavok UAS drones. Upon successful completion, further cooperation is envisaged to promote joined solutions tailored to the unmanned aerial vehicles and systems (UAV/UAS) market.
